3. Payments
Before you can drive off in our vehicle you will need to pay the following:
- Booking Deposit
To make the booking, you have already paid the Booking Deposit with a Paypal Invoice (usually equivalent to 20,000 - 50,000 JPY depends on the van you have booked).
- Van Damage Deposit
Each van is covered with basic insurance which requires 100,000 to 200,000 JPY Excess Fee in case of any insurance claim (The Excess Fee depends on the van you have booked).
We need to collect this security deposit during the van pickup, and we refund the whole amount during the van drop off (if there are no claims and / or damages).
We accept Japanese Yen (JPY) or equivalent in any other major currency.
Approximate values in other currencies:
- Full Rental Fee
The amount is always shown on the Booking Form which we have already sent to you.

- Credit Card or Paypal
Rental Fee or Van Damage Deposit may be paid in advance with Paypal or a Credit Card (+ 5% commission). Please note that many foreign Credit Cards are not accepted in Japan or have a withdrawal limit of 30,000 JPY / day thats why to avoid unpleasant situations, we recommend cash payments.
- Cash upon arrival
You may pay the rental fee with cash on your arrival day at our office.
We accept Japanese Yen (JPY), USD, GBP, CAD, NZD, AUD, Euros, SGD, CNY, HKD (let us know if you want to pay with other currency). There is a small exchange fee if is paid with currency other than Japanese Yen (the amount is subject to the exchange rate on the day of the transaction).
- Advance Payment with International Bank Transfer (Transfer Wise)
If you would like to pay the rental fee before the pickup day, please let us know in advance and we will send you the Banking Information.
Please make sure to complete the International Bank Transfer payment at least 2 weeks
before the vehicle pickup date.
If the payment is not confirmed before the vehicle pickup date, your departure may be delayed.
Unfortunately, all Japanese banks will charge you an additional commission for accepting the money transfer (minimum 5,000 JPY) so we suggest to use cash for your payments to save you some money.

5. Recommended items to bring
In general, you may buy almost anything while in Japan but please note that some of our customers have big problems withdrawing cash while in Japan.
Sometimes, even the major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard) do not work in Japan and most shops do not accept credit card payments. Please make sure you always have some cash with you.
We recommend bringing a pair of slippers so you may wear them when leaving the vans (for example to go to the toilets at night).
Space is limited in the van and hard suitcases may not fit in the camper.
(In such a case we offer a free storage space in our Narita vehicle Depot).
